Tips and hacks

  • Lightning Lane Multi Pass

This paid system (which replaced Genie+ in 2024) lets you skip standby lines at most popular attractions; choose up to 3 experiences in advance, then add more one at a time. Pricing is variable per park and date, roughly 15 to 40 dollars per person per day (approximate).

  • Lightning Lane Single Pass

A separate paid option for the most in demand headliner rides not included in Multi Pass. You can buy up to 2 single passes per day, subject to availability and variable per ride pricing.

  • Buy Lightning Lane at the right time

Guests at Disney Resort hotels can purchase Lightning Lane up to 7 days before their stay, while all other guests can purchase up to 3 days in advance.

  • Early Theme Park Entry

Guests at Disney Resort hotels and select partner hotels can enter any of the four parks 30 minutes before official opening every day, a strong head start on popular rides.

  • Extended Evening Hours

On select nights, guests at Deluxe Resorts and Deluxe Villas can stay in a designated park for extra hours after regular close, with much shorter lines.

  • Use Mobile Order

Pre order and pay for quick service meals in the My Disney Experience app, then pick up at your chosen window to skip the counter line. Many popular locations require it during peak hours.

  • Rope drop the headliners

Arrive before park opening and head straight to the most popular attraction first, since waits are shortest in the first hour or two. Combine with Early Theme Park Entry if you are a resort guest.

  • Park reservations status

As of 2026, date based park reservations are no longer required for most standard date based tickets, so you can simply show up at your chosen park. Some ticket types, such as certain Annual Passes on peak dates, may still need a reservation, so confirm your specific ticket.

  • Use the free Disney transportation

Disney runs complimentary monorail, Skyliner gondola, bus, and boat service across the resort. The Skyliner links EPCOT and Hollywood Studios with several resorts, while the monorail loops the Magic Kingdom area.

  • Memory Maker and PhotoPass

Disney PhotoPass photographers capture photos around the parks and on many rides; buy Memory Maker to download all your images and ride photos, ideally in advance for a lower price.

  • The My Disney Experience app is essential

The free app handles Lightning Lane purchases, live wait times, Mobile Order, maps, showtimes, dining reservations, and PhotoPass. Download it and set up your account before you arrive.

  • Book dining 60 days ahead

Reserve table service and character dining up to 60 days in advance through My Disney Experience, since top spots like Cinderella's Royal Table and Space 220 fill quickly. Use Rider Switch and Single Rider lines to cut waits on headliners with small children.

Know before you go

Tickets and pricing

Walt Disney World uses date based pricing, so a 1 day single park adult ticket (ages 10 and up) varies by day and season, starting around 119 dollars on the cheapest dates and rising on busier days and holidays. Per day prices generally fall as you add more days to a multi day ticket. An optional Park Hopper add on lets guests visit more than one park on the same day. All prices are approximate, subject to change, and exclude tax.

Theme park parking

Standard self parking at the four theme parks costs about 35 dollars per day (the fee covers all four parks for the day), with preferred parking higher. Standard parking is free for Disney Resort hotel guests and select Annual Passholders.

Disney transportation

A complimentary network of monorail, Skyliner gondola, buses, and boats connects the parks, resort hotels, and Disney Springs, free for all guests to use.

Stroller rental

Strollers can be rented in the parks and at Disney Springs, with single strollers around 15 dollars per day and double strollers around 31 dollars per day (lower multi day rates apply). A credit card deposit applies at Disney Springs.

Baby Care Centers

Each of the four theme parks has a complimentary Baby Care Center with nursing rooms, changing tables, a feeding area with high chairs, and a kitchenette. They also sell baby food, formula, diapers, and wipes (subject to availability).

Disability Access Service (DAS)

DAS is a return time system for guests who, due to a developmental disability such as autism, cannot wait in a conventional queue; you receive a return time comparable to the current standby wait. Guests register in advance via a live video chat, and in 2024 Disney tightened eligibility toward developmental disabilities.

Lockers

Rental lockers are available near the main entrance of each theme park to store belongings during the day, typically around 10 dollars per day for a small locker and 12 dollars for a large one (approximate). Rentals are valid all day with repeated access.

First Aid

Each of the four theme parks (and the water parks) has a staffed First Aid center offering over the counter medications, bandages, and quick remedies during park hours. Centers can also refrigerate medications.

MagicBand and MagicBand+

MagicBands are optional wearables that let guests enter the parks, unlock their resort room, charge purchases, and redeem Lightning Lane, all linked through My Disney Experience. They are sold separately, and MagicBand+ adds interactive features such as light up effects and haptic vibrations.
